Haiku on 'Late and 'Mend'

Late

So predictable
Always late for school and work
Missed his funeral

Do what your heart says
Don't put off what needs doing
Later than you think

Late winter sunshine
Streams brightly through my window
Blinding old sorrows

Mend

Open-cut mining
Scarring the land for profit
Sores that never mend

Week by mindful week
In Voice Movement Therapy
Scars began to mend

Sliding on benches
Schoolboy trousers gained a hole
Mother love mended
