Sensual Haiku: the book

Sensual Haiku
These are the Haiku of love - sometimes soft and gentle, sometimes suggestive and raw. They are written to a soulmate - sometimes memories and at other times fantasies.

There are over 100 haiku of 17 syllables (5-7-5), written over 4 years. The book is in four connected parts - Winter to Spring to Summer to Autumn - tracing the stages of loving, but also reflecting the passages of life.

108 pp    Full colour images      $49 for the hard back book or $23 for the pdf download

Go to Family Concern Publishing and click on this image or click on 'Order Publications'. At $49 plus postage and packaging, this could be a beautiful gift for someone you love for Christmas

Photographic images are from the author’s own Japanese garden, from others in Brisbane and Toowomba in Queensland, as well as from journeys to Japan, Korea and China. Other stock images were purchased for the book. Details of paintings are from Ginnosuke Tasuke Yokouchi (1870-1942), a Japanese watercolour painter; all paintings are part of the author’s personal collection.

Self-injury: Could an Expressive Therapy help?

Just shared some powerpoint slides on self-injury and whether expressive therapies could make a difference. This was from a workshop at last year's Australian Music Therapy Association conference.

The essence was the question: "Could an Expressive Therapy (like Voice Movement Therapy) help with the problems in Emotion Regulation experienced by people who self-injure?"

Comments or questions very welcome….

Monday Haiku: jest, inside, heal, get/ Know

Jest, Inside, Heal, Get

Did not get this jest
Inside, obscuring pain roiled
Laughter could not heal

Never gets the jest
Mean-spirited old sourpuss
Needs healing inside

Get inside a jest
The intent may be to heal
But old scars open

Know

Mmm, I think I can
No, I really think I can
I know you love me

Data can inform
To inform suggests I know
Knowledge not wisdom

Across the table
He gave her a knowing look
Her stomach tightened

Profits are evil
"I know that," said the prophet
"I'm left at a loss"
