Reflective Haiku on 'Jest' and 'Knit'

Jest

A word said in jest
Sometimes too close to the truth
That's why it may sting

He puffed up his jest
Made everybody laugh
Coughing up a joke

A sad profession
Making jokes for a living
Poor old court jester

Knit

When I was a child
Mother knitted my bathers
Bit baggy when wet

Knit one and pearl two
The click clack of the needles
Making a jumper

After a fracture
Bones may need weeks to knit well
Plaster cast, crutches

With a knitted brow
The judge peered at the accused
"You're guilty as charged"
