I'm 54 and have had TM for almost 9 years. I really do believe that mental exercise, even if it's something you enjoy can also contribute to exhaustion. I find when I work very hard on challenging tasks at work I feel more drained than if I had a slow day. My brother had a major brain hemorrhage about 2 years ago, and It was obvious that learning to speak again was completely exhausting him at first. He still gets worn out when quickly when he tries to return to his former mentally challenging work as a patent attorney.... so maybe our brain fatigue contributes??
